Post by: Tom Veitch on March 20, 2002, 08:52:12 AM
Anyone had any problems when SME 5.1.2 is connected to ADSL and the ISP drops the system for a long time SME will stop trying to reconnect to the ADSL.

the only way to get the connection up again is to reboot the server.

A less intrusive way of reconnecting to the DSL service is to run

/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart

from the commandline. This stops and restarts all ethernet connections.

Maybe all you need to know are these commands:
1. adsl-start
2. adsl-stop

Try sticking adsl-start in a script and run it from cronhourly
