Title: command to change password
Post by: John Jones on April 03, 2002, 12:07:47 AM
anyone know the command for the root user to type to change a user's password?
[I know normal practice is to use the web manager panel but I would like to find the e-smith command to change the user's password so that I can automate it in a cron job]

thanks for any help.

look in the function that the web manager uses
/etc/e-smith/web/panels/functions/password or similar

I belive passwd should still work.  As root, just type "passwd ".
