Title: No Space left on device
Post by: Lex on April 10, 2002, 03:35:32 AM
I am running verseion 5.1 beta 4,

on a old machine (PI 166, 64MB, 1.2GB HDD) against the official requirements.

The machine is running for over 6 month without any problems.

Now there are coming up the error: /tmp/xxxx/ no space left on device.
if i do any commands on shell.

there are:
                  Size       used       avail               mounted on
/dev/hda6    1.2 GB    960MB   236MB   81% /
/dev/hda1      11MB    2.6MB    8.2MB   24% /boot

.. html ibays dirs runnig on a another nfs share.

if the error appears, i delete some big log files or clear the squid cache.
...the error disappears for 1-3 days.

i cant see any dependence of the size, somtimes the server runs normal
and there are only 120MB free on /dev/hda6.

how many space must left on the device.

is the small space the really error? who has any idea???

Delete some files, seriously.
Look in /tmp, /var/tmp, /dev.
