I work for a School Division and a few of the schools would like to host their own web site. Running SME v5.1.2 at all sites. The problem is I don't want to give out the Admin password to allow them to upload content to the Primary web site folder.
Is there a way around having to hand out the Admin password to the teachers? Can I create a user that will have read/write access to that folder?
Any ideas?????

You could edit the apache config. file (httpd.conf, I think?), but you must use e-smith's custom template method or e-smith will overwrite the file. You could change the root directory of the webserver from "/home/e-smith/files/primary/html" to "/home/e-smith/files/ibays//html". This would require the creation of ibay "webmaster" in which you would make the webmasters members of and allow write access only by that group. (However, there may be a better solution)
Please add to this if someone knows more about creating the custom-template!
Good luck!
