HI
PPTP logon to my SME at work, is working great, i can do server-manager on the SME box and browse the intranet server, but i can't browse the local workgroup, i can see all the workgroup clients (on my own lan and on the remote lan) but i can't access any of the remote clients or servers in the workgroup.
I use XP to connect to my work's SME server, and when i do a "ipconfig" from a dos box, the subnet mask of the PPP connection is 255.255.255.255 and the GW is the same as the IP.. ??
Any ideas?
The DHCP to lan on the SME is disabled, so how do i control the ip's and subnet's to the incomming PPTP sessions

The gateway and subnetmask settings are fine. Have you tried browsing the ip addresses of the remote machines.

See http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13465.msg51044#msg51044 for more info.
One of the config files contains this note...
# We steal the PPTP range from the top of the DHCP range
# Allocate them as static DHCP entries
PPTP still uses the DHCP config even if you're not using the SME's DHCP for the LAN. Enable and configure DHCP in the console setup, then run it again and disable it. You'll end up with the SME not providing DHCP for the LAN, but with the proper range configured for PPTP to pull from.

I have the same problem. The assigned address ok on a PPTP connection but the subnet mask is 255.255.255.255 instead of 255.255.255.0. I need X.X.X.0 to browse the internal network.
I re-ran config from the console and it does allow you to adjust the pool of addresses but it didn't allow for changing the subnet mask.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks
Chuck
