Title: Cups and Samba
Post by: Gregg on April 28, 2002, 10:00:47 AM
I have several Windows machines connected to my SME 5.12 server.  I also have two printers connected to the server too.  The windows machines have no problems printing through the server.

I have a RedHat Slipjack Beta 2 machine with KDE3 on it.  I set up the printer to use the cups printer drivers, but have had no luck get the server to respond.  I then set up the printer for lpd and I have success getting the printer to print, but it prints garbage.

Has anybody been successful in using cups on a client machine to print through a SME server?
Has anybody been successful in getting RH to print successfully using the Beta and lpd?

If anybody has some insight, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Mandrake uses both cups and lpr. Both are working winth SME.

But isn't RH using lpr?? Are they using cups now in the last release?
