Title: Need to give a user admin rights on SME 5.1.2
Post by: Ari Novikoff on April 30, 2002, 02:25:51 AM
I have a user that requires admin rights on the server.

This particular user is the webmaster but I'd rather not give the user the admin account. Just access so he can change file permissions on uploaded files through ftp.

Please tell me it's possible...

Please tell me I'm on the right path in adding the user's name to the "root" group in /etc/group and /etc/group-

Of course, If there's a different approach to this, I'm all ears.

Here's a better way, add the necessary panels to the user-manager for the user. Here's a link to the instructions: http://www4.tpgi.com.au/users/dungog/sme/howto/delegate.html

Very interesting. I shall take a more in-depth look at this. Thanks!
