I currently use the putty tunnel trick to access my server-manager page remotely
http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/howto/putty-howto.html
However, what do I need to do to get access to.., say ari's snort/acid page, which is restricted to the admin user. (http://myserver/acid)
What do I need to put in on Putty to allow me remote, secure access to the acid pages?
Also, could I use this tunneling trick to securly access my IMAP mail accounts through Outlook? What would I need to do?
Thanks.

I would expect you could do the web connection by forwarding localhost:80 to port 80 on the remote host (the SME server), and IMAP by forwarding localhost:143. You'd then access the ACID page by going to http://localhost/acid, and use localhost as the IMAP server.

John,
You don't need any special access from putty.
You need to point to https://yourserver/acid
notice that it's https:// not http://

Ari is correct, but if you just need server manager access it can be accomplished using just PPTP. Give the HowTo I have written a try. Any feedback is appreciated.
