Title: US Robotics 56k faxmodem pci ???

Can anyone tell me if a US Robotics 56k faxmodem pci (for windows) will be compatible with e-smith.....if yes are there drivers or instructions avail anywhere. Thanks

If this is a Winmodem, which it sounds like it is, then it won't work with e-smith.

Thank you for the reply Dan. But I wonder. Where do I find a modem for linux....or more exact....can you or someone recommend a brand....or point me to some documentation. Thank you.

I have a pentium 166

External modems are a safe bet.

I swear by the US Robotics 56K external. It is very reliable and proven to be about 30% faster than other modems on less than perfect connections.

Having huge experience with modems I join previous recommendations. USR 56K External well worth few extra $$. You will avoid MANY frustrations.
