I recently had the server crash and upon reboot had errors on the hard drive. I followed the prompts and fsck'd the disk, accepting the default "Y" for everything. After removing all the errors I found upon subsequent reboots there were no ibays or users visible to the system in the server manager. When I went to the console and checked the ibays they were there as were all the users. My question is this - how can I get the server manager to recognize the ibays/users? Additionally I can not do a backup to desktop and am wondering how to get the system back to its status before the crash. I'm still not even sure what caused it.
Please provide feedback.

Hello Duane, i'm a newbies to this system but perhaps you should check if the user configuration files are ok. They might have probably been deleted (if the user directories, it's datas and the ibays are still present in the disk). This may cause server-manager not to "see" users nor ibays...
Check the following files...
/home/e-smith/accounts
this is the file where ibays and user accounts are declared...
if the file is missing, check the
/lost+found
to see if you don't have this files in it... (maybe fsck had put these files there because they where on bad clusters, or because they where corrupted or something like that...)
Hope it will help you... Sorry everyone, maybe it seems silly but, as i said, i'm a newbies (have SME since 15 days...) :Þ
Bye...

I have examined the user accounts and ibays. Everything is on the disk where it needs to be so there is no corruption. Today I will attempt to build another server on another machine and copy the data off directly (probably ftp). I am still looking for a solution as this could happen again. I don't want to keep building servers...
