Title: SME5.12 in an NT environement
Post by: Charlie on May 13, 2002, 07:28:04 PM
I was playing around with Samba on a Mandrake computer and set it up to authenticate from a Windows 2000 server and am quite surprised at how well it works.  Can these settings in SME be changed to do the same thing?

Hi Charlie,

Yes it can be done, It's all in the smb.conf.

Make a template for the smb.conf file and play with it...

(how to template ? http://www.e-smith.org/custom/)

To update the samba version on SME 5.1.2 to 2.2.3a go to:
http://www.star-support.com/downloads/mitel/contrib/samba-2.2.3a/

For additional documentation you can take a look at:

Have fun.
