Hi there,
I have just upgraded a 4.1.2 version e-smith server with the latest RAV packages in line with recommendations and also installed the e-smith obtuse-smtp upgrade, also accoding to what was on the update page on myezserver.com.
Unfortunately this seems to have totally scuppered mail collection on the server in question. I have no problem sending out, but no mail appears to be getting in.
I have tried uninstalling the packages and reinstalling but no luck. The only messages I get back are along the lines of :
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at papakowhai.nz.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

Sorry. Although I'm listed as a best-preference MX or A for that host,
it isn't in my control/locals file, so I don't treat it as local. (#5.4.6)Hi. This is the qmail-send program at papakowhai.nz.

Looking through the forums, and using more testing, it appears to be accepting some mail, just not delivering it to the end-users.
I seem to be able to connect to POP on the server on port 110 and have tried rebooting a few times. I have looked in the hosts file and it appears to be accepting mal for the domain and the virtual domain.
I have restarted the qmail-pop3.init service but am about out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated before I have to rebuild the server to fix it!

If its relevant, the contents of var/qmail/control/locals are
localhost
server.papakowhai.nz
I have setup papakowhai.school.nz as a virtual domain and that's where I am sending the mail to.
Cheers,

Internal mail works fine, BTW, so could be the router? Can telnet to port 110 from the server although servcie is listed (its one of those Nokia m1122 jobs). Hmmmmm

You have restarted smtpfwdd?
/etc/rc.d/init.d/smtpfwdd restart

One other thing is did you go to the RAV panel in the server-manager and hit "save". This will start RAV and mail delivery.
