I have IPSec going as per how-to.
I am able to ping, ftp, telnet, ssh, and even RemoteAdmin.
I have modified the smb.conf file on the IPSec client's side to reflect that the primary Wins server is on the IPSec server side, I have modified dhcpd.conf, and also options.pptpd.
But I can't connect to a samba drive on the other side of the network.
Can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong?

I'm having the exact same problem, with two SME 5.12 boxes, trying to get to a Microsoft Small Business Server behind one of them. Appropriate entries in LMHOSTS and HOSTS don't seem to help either. Interestingly enough, an NT, 2000 or XP box *will* see & authenticate, but a 9x box won't.
Another interesting note is that the 9x boxes also can't see a share on the SME box on the far side of the VPN.
I hope some IPSec whiz can help us! I'm going bug-eyed reading man pages, forums, listservs and Googling on this issue.

No responses ... guess we shall have to seek elsewhere.

You need to up date win98 DUN to support 128 bit it will then work

Thanks ... I'll have the folks on the far side of the VPN try it ... I have already set up DUN 1.4 on the box I'm using to connect via VPN and I still can't see or map to a fileshare on the SME box while the IPSEC VPN is up ... if I use an NT box I *can*. Strange, no?

Hi
Which how-to?

Resolved.
I don't know why, but one of my 5.1.2 servers, the one that was upgraded from 5.0 was the problem. I just reinstalled 5.1.2, and had no problems.
Thanks for the info!
