Title: ifconfig - no bytes

The command ifconfig displays no bytes.
I need this value for a  own traffic script.

is there a way to display like:

eth0 Protokoll:Ethernet Hardware Adresse 00:80:AD:03:86:5D
          inet Adresse:192.168.81.198 Bcast:192.168.81.255 \
                       Maske:255.255.255.0
