Title: Ram Disk with Squid
Post by: Richard Elizondo on May 24, 2002, 07:41:48 PM
I am looking to use a Ram Disk as my main Squid Cache.
Can this be done ?
Even the best 1500k SCSI drives are really bogging down under heavy load, but a Ram Disk could prove useful due to its speed.

Any other Ideas would be appreciated.

squid already challanged the problems you're referring to
If you RTFM you will conclude that there is no need for a ram disk, squid already has a specialized cache fs in ram
Put has much ram you can in your machine and size the on disk cache according to the amount of ram
