Title: Same IP range VPN...
Post by: Andre Courchesne - Consu on May 28, 2002, 08:51:18 PM
Hi,

  Ok, here is the diagram:

      Win2K workstation 1 (10.0.0.xxx)
      E-smith gateway 1 (10.0.0.10)
      Internet
      E-smith gateway 2 (10.0.0.99)
      Win2K workstation 2 (10.0.0.100)

Win2K workstation 1 can VPN fine to E-smith 2 and can ping it (10.0.0.99), but cannot ping 10.0.0.100 as it is not routed outside through E-smith 1.

Is there a way to tell wither Win2K workstation 1 or E-smith 1 that 10.0.0.100 should be routed through the VPN tunnel?

You need to use two separate ranges. In your current setup, it thinks the other workstation is on the same network, so it doesn't see any reason to have to go through the gateway to make the connection. Something like 10.0.1.x on the first network and 10.0.2.x on the second would fix the problem.
