Title: I need More than 500 users

Hi
   when i use the Filippo Carletti (Perfect Job) script to create users in mitel v5.1.2 the system crash when the script rich the user #500.
Any idea

I can confirm your findings.
But I still don't know why.

I re-aligned /etc/passwd with /home/e-smith/accounts and restarted adding users.
Now it's working again, I've a total of 510 users and it's going.

   I format a new server to create to post the users again
but the server hang in the user number 500 (i use a diferent user file)

But if i change the group share the system continue until you add another 500 users
? why

I'm not sure to understand what you did.
What do you mean with 'server hang' ? A crash ?
Are you sayng that the programs can add batches of 500 users and then stop (that's what I found, too) ? (i.e. to create 1500 users, run it 3 times)

    yes a server crash you canot add more user (manualy or using the script)

I had to shells open when adding users and the server stopped while adding user # 498 (I added 2 users before by hand).
The server was not able to write to disk, all processes wanting to write were in D state.
I couldn't connect with ssh but httpd answered one request.
The second shell was operational, I could do ps and df, but it stopped suddenly and I had to power off.
After power on I synced accounts and restarted adding users. It kept adding users until I interrupted the process, after at least 10 users more.

I suppose it's a subtle bug.
I'll try to look into it.

   The maximun record number is 5998 when you reach that number the scrip create anly one
