Title: Accessing Server Manager with Mozilla
Post by: guestHH on June 08, 2002, 01:15:03 PM
Hi all,

I'm trying Mozilla 1.0 and is working just fine.

There one thing though, I can't access the server manager. Normally I have to log in as admin, but now there's nothing, zill, nada, blanco.

Pressing on the 'lock' (secure or not secure) it says: the site 192.168.1.1:980 does not support encryption for the page you are viewing.

Any ideas?

Regards,
guestHH

Hello RequestedDeletion,

Connecting just fine from Mozilla 1.0 for MacOS to the server-manager on SME 5.1.2 for Alpha. Both through http and through https. I'm not sure if this is related, but I did change the Password setting in Mozilla to _not_ remember passwords. I prefer to remember passwords myself. You might have a look at the stored passwords and see if there's an (incorrect?) entry for the server-manager panel.
BTW: overall I'm really pleased with Mozilla 1.0.

About the padlock icon thingy: I suppose Mozilla is just telling you that you are connected through http and not through https. Doesn't seem like anything to worry about.

Cheers,
Robert

After reading this post I downloaded and tried Mozilla 1.0 and really like it.  I particularly like the Imap support in the mail client as it seems better that OE or Outlook. OE seems to struggle with the fact that folders are in a subdirectory on SME and is able to download only the headers whereas Oulook does not appear to be able to download headers only but copes better with the Mail/  folder.  It also allows me to run the equivalant of inbox assistant  although I have had a problem getting it to work with subdirectories.

I have tried accesing server manager using both  the 980 port and server-manager with no problems.

Hi,

Robert, i did the same already. Same result.

Funny thing is, on my pc it works perfectly (XP pro), but on my laptop (also XP pro) it doesn't work.

Reinstalled it already but same result, also playing with options didn't help.

Well it isn't a priority issue, just that I want to switch from outlook to Mozilla.

And yes I agree with you all, it a fine job they did.

If anybody comes up with a new idea, i'm all ears :-)

Hi all,

Yes i feel dumb....

Fixed it. Just a stupid caching thing. Cleared caches and off it went to the server manager.

What a fine product it is. Mozilla is my new browser & mail friend.

Thanks and regards,
guestHH

Title: Mozilla - only one issue

And it does not relate to the thread but since we're all happy Mozilla users.... R1 does not support the use of personal Certs or encryption.

Just an FYI - it's a complex issue and I'm sure they will work it out,
