Post by: Thorsten Dunker on June 10, 2002, 05:01:32 PM
hi all,

i have a sme server behind a cisco pix. now i have to setup a
way that users can access their home dirs from home.
a vpn is not possible. so i think to setup the sme server
as nis server an another server outside the lan a nis client.
is this possible with sme server?
i have heard of a unofficial nis howto but cant find it.

tia and greetings

http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/nis-howto.html

is in the official SME Howto section

Why is VPN not possible? The cisco can should be able to be configured to allow access.
