Hello,
I am a relatively new user ( 4 days ) I use te latest beta (5.5beta9) and I have a problem with the addressbook in the imp.
When i want to use my own addressbook I get the following error.
Failed to connect to the specified directory.
what can I do about this?

First, if you're a new user, you probably shouldn't be using a beta. They're not stable, hence the beta designation.
Second, if you're using a beta, you should take a look at the release notes where it says to send bug reports to bugs@e-smith.com.
Third, general discussion of beta releases should take place on the devinfo mailing list, not on the forums, as they're mainly intended for developers.
-
Sorry,
But the normal version doesnt have the things I need, such as a GOOD webmail program.
Second;I can't seem to find a list with know bugs within beta releases.
Third; Well You possibly are right about that, but maybe someone here can help me?

There is a howto out there on upgrading 5.1.2 to IMP 3.0 which seems to work pretty well. I don't know of a listing of known bugs in 5.5b9, but if you send a report to bugs@e-smith.com, it will then become known.
All I've done with 5.5b9 is upgrade IMP to 3.1rc3, but that much seems to work all right.

yes, i recommend that you stick with the 5.12 version. i've done the upgrade to imp 3.0 and it works just dandy. just follow the howto documentation on the upgrade of webmail; it's very self-explanatory and simple. good luck!

The problem is solved now,
But i have one latest question;
is the update from imp3.0 to imp3.1 the same as from imp2.X to 3.0 ?Dan Brown wrote:

The differences between IMP 3.0 and 3.1 are much more minor than the differences between 2.2.x and 3.0.

I know, but the main differences are in the addressbook, and that's one of the most important things that isn't yet real satisfactory.
I am building a server for my work, and if I want to implement this server, it must all work brilliantly.
