Title: KixTart with SME does InGroup work?
Post by: John Davey on June 19, 2002, 02:32:38 AM
Hello,

I had been working in a previous thread trying to sort out the "If InGroup" statement for mapping drives in logon scripts based on group membership (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13982.msg53164#msg53164).

What I need is a yes or no answer - has anyone been able to get the "If InGroup" function to work correctly with SME 5.12 as the PDC (no Kix RPC service running on an NT PDC anywhere in the domain)?

I'd love to hear about what worked or didn't work for you.

Thanks for you help!

It's my understanding that Kix requires the Kix RPC service for the ingroup function to work. Have you tried the forums at kixtart.org?

download this file and install it:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/DanielvanRaay/RPMS/noarch/e-smith-loginscript-0.2-2.noarch.rpm
You will have groups, user, home directory and machine control from SME Manager.  Very easy to use and should be part of SME
