Title: Virtual Domains - Qmail
Post by: andrew on June 19, 2002, 07:39:41 AM
Hi,

I currently have a virtual domain addedd to my SME server, which has a website hosted on an ibay. The problem is that email for that domain is hosted at another location, and if internal user's try to send an email to a recipient at that domain, an un recognised recipient error is returned.

Is there a way of changing the qmail configuration (or whatever needs to be modified) to reflect that the email for that domain should not be handled on this server?

Thank you.

yes, nearly, my rpm is in testing now

I alter the MX record in ?/e-smith/dns/var/named/db.yourdomain.com?
this is heavily templated and rather awkward to keep altered
hence the need for an rpm

dungog-vdomain can also allow you to alter other DNS entries and better handles mail to seperate virtual domains

hello,,
actually you can do it if you have setup your network to work as a VPN,,,then you can specify and point your email servers IP Address ,,this is ok if you have multiple IP Given by your ISP,,,,
