Title: vpn to a windows server
Post by: dean on June 19, 2002, 12:14:17 PM
Heres the scenario hopefully someone can help.

I have an e-smith box at home connected via cable modem (dynamic address) to the internet.

My company allows us to vpn into the works network. If i connect my winme laptop to my cable modem direct i can vpn to the works system fine, if i try from the local lan side of my home e-smith system no joy (not surprisingly)

what i need to do is either enable my laptop to access work using vpn via my e-smith box or enable my e-smith box to vpn to my works system and set up my home laptop to access it from there.

i have no control over the config of my works system.

i have read lots of posts regarding freeswan between e-smith boxes but not e-smith to windows anyone any ideas how to do it?

cheers   dean

Wich taste of windoze do you run on your laptop?
VPN trough dialup networking over cable-internet won't go with XP. It works great with NT4 Workstaion service pack 6a (high encryption!)  and win9x with the dun1.4 patch.
