Title: Back Up
Post by: Graham Harris on June 21, 2002, 11:45:44 AM
Hi All,

Is there a way of hiding a directory from "back up"?

I recently implemented a mirror of 10gig of data between my WinBox and my SME Server.  Now if I backup my SME box to my WinBox I get another, third, copy of the data.  I want to avoid this as I have a dismal real disk tranfer rate of only 2 meg / second (after HDPARM) and I'd prefer to keep my 10gig for something else.

Thanks,

Graham

Have a look through the backup FAQ's - I think saw something there the other day about enabling/disabling what gets backed up.

Thanks John,

I found the reference, all I have to do is poke my data outside the 10 or so dir's that get backed up.

Cheers,

Graham
