I've just had to replace my E-smith 5.12 box with RH7.3 because the Kernel version of 5.12 is 2.2
I need (as do many others) USB support for my Fujitsu FDX310 ADSL modem. With help from the developer of the driver we got this working on RH7.3 but its no go with e-smith (due to the old and buggy 2.2 Kernel). So are we ever going to see the new kernel?. ipchains is also a pain and iptables is much better...
So what do you all think?

I think I'm going to replace my sme with clarkconnect : 2.4 kernel, iptables, real firewall rules and panels ... I gonna miss ibays ...
-
and ext3 of course !
-
I'm probably gonna leave for --bind and FAM support which I urgently need.
But anyone tryed 5.5???
-
Yes, actually, there are plans for 2.4, in the next release after 5.5.
-
wow,,...clark conncect looks pretty cool. thanks for the lead as I also need 2.4 kernel.
-
Axon Linux supports 2.4 on e-smith.
-
You mean supportED. Near as anybody can tell, axon is a dead project.

Axon Linux does not exist anymore....

Where would I find 5.5 to try out? I'm still running 5.1.2.
Thanks,
