Hi!
I'm evaluating the RAV antivirus and I have a doubt of its operation.
The antivirus creates, has happened to me this already twice in less of a month, very great files (altogether but of 12 gigas) in the /tmp directory.
These files have this type of of name RAVTMPxgWST1 and RAVTMPxxxxxx and the content is of this type EAR2VEbGljZjdvL1VWRnAvalhVSXZBdDlkdk1yNmdIUVc1WVpIek4NCmo5Qm44cWJ4ZE5OcSt5, etc...
I would like to know if this is normal or no.
I have installed the RAV for AntiVirus Linux i686 version: 8.3.3-beta (snapshot-20020129)
Thanks.

Your question would best be directed to the vendor of the RAV software.

I have been running Rav for 2 weeks and have not had a problem as yet. no files in /tmp of the type you described. These are the Rav RPMS I have installed. along with the Mitel Rav RPMS
ravcore-8.5-4.i386.rpm
ravmd-8.3-2.i386.rpm
ravqmail-8.3-0.i386.rpm

You might want to address your question to the RAV Email list. The RAV people are very responsive and will work to help you solve your issue
