Title: 5.1.2 - Raid Monitor?
Post by: Steve on July 02, 2002, 04:53:01 AM
I had installed the raidmonitor from myezserver.com and had problems.  I then realized that monitor is for v4.1.2 (I use v5.1.2).  Is there anyway to have the sytem email you when the raid fails?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Raidmonitor works fine on 5.1.2. What problems are you having.

Unfortunately, I've moved the server to another location.  I don't have one currently setup at my house using software raid.  I may try later today to setup a test server,  but I belive it was sending false emails alerting of a raid failure.  (the emails were quite frequent)  I had checked the raid from the shell using 'raidmonitor -v', and I think everything was fine.

I'll try to post back to this message later today.  If you believe it works with 5.1.2, it must be a problem on my server.  Thanks Jon

After the installation, the raid array software takes a few hours to get the HDs synchronised, so if you are running raidmonitor during that time, you get an email every 15 minutes!

Once it is completely sync'd then do "raidmonitor -i", and it will then only email you if it gets out of sync.

cheers
