Title: DYNDNS how do i...........?
Post by: Phil Gartner on July 02, 2002, 02:13:57 PM
Need the help of someone who may have already achieved this..

I currently have 5.1.2 running well with dyndns updates happening properly to dyndns.org using mydomain.homeip.net

I have now purchased a new domain for use with new business "newdomain.biz" that will be handled by the custom service of dyndns.org

I wish to retain the dynamic updated of both domains...how? preferable using the inbuilt client.

I can see in the S85update-dns that it would be simple to just call the update script twice with the different parameters, but would this actually work?

The only issue i can see is the need to call either "custom" or "dyndns" in the call to dyndns.org

Has anyone made this work or can offer some hints or clues to make this work.

Cheers and thanks in advance

Edit /sbin/e-smith/dynamic-dns/dyndns.org and go to the 20th line in the file. Change the word "dyndns" to "custom" and rewrite the file.

The line should end up looking like;

system=custom\&hostname="$DOMAIN"\&myip="$IPADDR"\&wildcard=ON

It seems to work for me and I have had this going about a year.
