Title: After upgrade to 5.5, Windows Domain Login profiles gone!
Post by: Dave Owen on July 06, 2002, 10:13:29 AM
I just upgraded to 5.5, and everything went really smoothly. Except one thing.

I logged two computers onto the domain (both Win2K boxes) that had previously been capable of logging onto the domain when I was running 5.1.2. I was not using roaming profiles.

Both reported the same error message: //gateway/dave/profiles cannot be copied to /dave/profiles (or somesuch path, can't remember) because resource is invalid (or something like that -- wish I'd written it down!)

Now both desktops are reset to the default windows settings, which is really annoying. Anyone else have this trouble?

Dug around, and found that under "User Profiles" (on the Win2K boxen) the profiles are now set to roaming by default. So essentially the upgrade to 5.5 caused my domain users' local profiles to be overwritten with blank roaming profiles from the server, as they're set to roaming by default.

I'll submit this as a bug.

Yep, that's not a problem.
