I noticed on my server that macintosh clients cannot see filenames longer than the 32 character limit. I am wondering if there is a toggle in e-smith (or on the command line) to automatically shorten the name for the Mac clients. If not, is there a UNIX utility that could automactically shorten (truncate) filenames to 32 characters (or possibly 28-30 characters w/ ~1, ~2, etc..) (ie run in a cron job every few minutes for select shares..)
