Title: snmp broken after upgrade from 5.1.2 to 5.5
Post by: Mark Kaishar on July 11, 2002, 04:19:10 AM
I get this error in my logs and I am not able to solve it.  I've upgraded to 5.5 from 5.1.2 update_2

snmpd: /usr/sbin/snmpd: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Jul 10 11:42:02 mail-int snmpd: snmpd startup failed

I know that libcrypto.so.1 is not there, but how can I get it back, tried uninstall and reinstall of ucd-snmp --nodeps and still problem is there.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

You need a version that's built for RH 7.2--specifically, with openssl 0.9.6b.

Thank you! Thank you!
That worked, so I SME 5.5 based on RH 7.2, or is it just openssl 0.9.6b?

SME 5.5 is based on RH 7.2, except for the kernel (which is still the same as 5.0/5.1.2).
