Title: How do I use the username/password thingy...
Post by: MLM-guy on July 13, 2002, 11:42:25 AM
Hello,
I am in need of creating an ibay that is password protected in order to put an info site in it for my MLM business.

I have the Ibay created and it is asking for a username and password which I want to be as follows:

Username: prospect
Password: password

How do I do this?

Also, I would like to have a link from my main website that enters this info in for the person who is looking at the business rather than making them enter it each time. Is there a way to pass these as a system variable or something similar?

Thanks
MLM-guy

Hi MLM-guy!

The name of the ibay is by default the username to access the ibay via http
You should create an ibay "prospect" and set the password in server-manager

Ok, the Username/password thingy works.

Now the question is this:

How can I do an html link that will automatically enter the Username/Password combo so that people don't have to type it in by hand?

Thanks a bunch

Well, you could always make a link to http://user:password@your.site.com.  Seems like it'd defeat the purpose of having a password, though...
