Title: [SME5.5] very long delay to connect SMTP server from LAN

Hi,

I use a "SME 5.5 server only" as mail server. It is on a public IP subnet, so my local LAN with private IPs is added as an additionnal Local Network via the Server-manager.

My problem is when I send e-mail from a computer on the LAN (with Ms Outlook Express 6) it spend about 30s-60s to connect to the SMTP server on the e-smith box...

What could be the reasons of this delay, and how to avoid it ?

You speak french ?

J'ai eu le même problème sur une version précédente de (SME 5.12),

Le problème venait du FIREWALL

Mon réseau local est connecté à internet par l'intermédiaire d'un firewall (NETASQ), le server SME est sur la DMZ

Il a fallut autoriser sur le firewall le port 113 (ou à défaut de l'autoriser lui dire de ne pas répondre) car Outlook fait plusieurs tentatives sur le port 113 avant d'envoyer ou de recevoir le courrier (au moins 20s à 30s)

Thanks for your answer, but remember this is not a french forum...
So for guys who don't speak french Thierry said that i have to open (or at least don't drop) port 113 (ident) because Outlook Express use it before sending mails...
