Title: Domino Server on a SME 5.5
Post by: Dennis Johansen on July 26, 2002, 11:30:28 PM
Hi there,

I’m trying to get a Lotus Domino 5.0.9 server to run on the SME server and for this I need to stop the LDAP and mail services by Qmail. The reason for this is the possibility to suggest MANY Lotus Domino administrators (some are friends, and friends don’t let friends use win32) to change from Win32 platform to Linux.

Any one tried that?

There isn’t a tool in the http://myserver/server-manager/ to stop services.

I need the Domino Server for especially the fantastic calendar, witch synchronize nice with the Handspring and Palm PDA.

Regards

Check in the how to area.  It is for 4.1.2 e-smith.  I send an email to the author to check if he had tested it on 5.1.2 or 5.5

Jose,

The link:

http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/contrib/e-smith-service-control/

will work nicely to start and stop most services on a 5.1.x box.

Let us know if you get Domino working, I am very interested.  Maybe a how-to? :>

Cheers,

Here is a how-to link http://www.jimmix.de/how-to/install-domino-howto.html

I will test the how-to Domino 5.0.9 Server on the SME 5.5 tonight.

Dennis,

You may find quite a few differences between 5.1.2 and 5.5.  Looking at the howto it appears as though there are going to be some issues.

5.5 does not use obtuse smtp if I remember correctly.

Good luck and let us know how it comes out....
