Hello All,
Just like to know if anybody has been able to load a server using the adaptec 2005 raid adaptor.
Currently tried both the latest adaptec RH drivers for 7.0 [2.2] kernel and the drivers from the cd that came with the product. Neither of these drivers allows access to the drives to install. No /dev/sda or and /dev/sd.
Anybody had any luck.
PS : The root is on a mirror and the data will be on raid 5 already setup and working fine for any other OS.

I'm not sure of your level of expertise, but you might look at an old how-to I put up a year or more ago:
http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/contrib/e-smith_adaptec_raid.htm
I don't know about the differences between the 2100 and the 2005, but the trick is to use e-smith 4.1.2 and the Adaptec drivers for Red Hat 7.0.
Hope this helps.

Have you tried using the driver disk in my contrib area:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/contrib/CharlieBrady/driver.disk.4.adaptec.2400A
? Who knows, it might work for the 2005 as well (2400A is also from dpt).
