Hi all,
Anyone out there managed to install and run ntop 2.1x on SME 5.1.2 ? I can't get it installed (due to the same old problem about libssl.so.2 and libcrypto.so.2). The older 1.3x works but I would like to try the new one if possible.
Is it because ntop 2.1x is only packaged for RH 7.2 and above ?

This is an old issue that I don't think ever got figured out. Others were also able to run the older ntop, but none the newer versions. I believe Charlie even looked at it at one point (briefly I believe) and no answers were found. I think this would be a powerful add-on for SME.

Hi,
With a couple of guys of www.minddigger.com (a dutch forum) we we're able to get ntop 2.1.2 working on SME 5.1.2 and SME 5.5.
If there's any interest I can write you a small HOWTO (english).
Please let me know!

Hi Dillard,
Yes, please send me a how-to on this along with any links to any supporting packages / dependencies required by ntop.
Many thanks.

I also would be interested in such a HOWTO

I have installed as per how-to instructions . . . so far everything looks very good, checking to make sure it comes back up after reboot.

. . . .
Opps, must have linked wrong, it did not come back up. Other than that it looks great. Seems that ntops range has increased considerably also, over prior versions.

I was asked not to publish the how-to as of yet . . . I have written and asked if I may send it to you.

Guys,
Have patience, the testing on 5.5 and 5.1.2 is done. The last thing to do is to produce a nice looking HowTo document and soon (think very soon) everybody can enjoy this good looking element.
In the meantime people can drop a line to http://www.vexins.com:3000 to see how this all looks and wait patiently for their 'system-tracker'. I can tell you all it's not as difficult as it seems.
