Title: Intel Pro 100 NIC's
Post by: Charles on August 13, 2002, 04:08:41 PM
I'm running SME V5.5 and right now my two network cards (Intel Pro 100) are running on 10Mbit.
Can somebody tell me how to change that to 100Mbit ?

Greetz,

charles

well i do believe that they are auto sensing - that means they look at the traffic whats on the lan and they adjust themselves.

I also have an intel but its running at 100mb. Have you looked at intels site?? I do believe that they also support there own products.

In /etc/conf.modules:

alias eth0 eepro100
options eepro100 options=0x30

Where the Hex Code:
0x10  Forced 10baseT half duplex.
0x20  Forced 10baseT full duplex.
0x100  Forced 100baseTx half duplex.
0x200  Forced 100baseTx full duplex

For more information about forcing negotiation, speed, etc, please see:

Hope this helped,
