Title: Local Networks and Mount
Post by: Jonathan Williams on August 20, 2002, 09:17:19 PM
Hi Chaps, hope you can help??!!

I'm trying to connect two sme servers over a WAN using adsl with fixed IP's. In order to connect server A to server B i have to add server A as a local network on server B.

This works fine, however, now, when trying to connect server B to server A the connection is refused because of the local network.

If i then add server B as a local network on server A, neither server can see each other.

If some one could shed any light on this i would be eternally grateful.

Secondly - as i have been having problems with local networks, i have resorted to using Mount to enable the servers to see each other. I have mounted ibays on server B onto server A.

This works fine until i attempt to write to the mounted drive on server B from server A. I am told that i do not have permisson to write to the mounted drive. I have set group access on the ibay to 'everyone' and the passwords on both servers for the users are exactly the same.

Can anyone help me??!!

Regards

Jonathan

Hi,

Look for postings from Judy, or ask her. She knows how...
