I have a very peculiar problem with my E-Smith Server 5.1.2. My Squid is not working properly though it is showing me that it has started properly during the boot time, but then also I am not able to access any Website.
I also tried to restart the Squid service but it shows failed while stopping the service and then restarts it properly. I even tried to shutdown the Squid server but it gave me the error messager " no running copy". I believe there is no process of squid running at the moment as I could not find any pid file in the /var/run.
Rest all the configurations of Squid are fine.
plz help me out with this problem

Well it seems I have solved the problem...
The problem was that squid was not able to create the access.log file, so all I did was changed the permissions for the access.log file and restarted the squid service.
Well that solved it and it is working fine now
