Title: Interesting Usage Meter Problem
Post by: Chris on August 25, 2002, 04:29:08 PM
OK, I am stumped

I have an E-Smith 5.5 Box and everything is running fine. The Client Machines are running windows xp.

I am currently on Telstra ADSL and telstra provide and online usage checker. If I manually allocate IP addresses to the client machines, I can access the usage meter without any worries with any internet browser.

If I change the setup on the XP machines to get the IP by DHCP, I can no longer check my usage via internet explorer 6, but it still works with opera though!

Any ideas....

Thanks

Chris Parker

Hi Chris,

Yes we too have the same problem with Telstra's ADSL, but, if you just put in your browser's proxy settings (Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings, Proxy Server / Advanced) the usage meter's address *.bigpond.net.au(without the port #).  You should be able to access it fine.  :)

Regards,

Troy.
