An old problem returns...
I have a Seagate STT20000A IDE tape drive. Back in the days of v5.1.2 it would only respond to "/dev/nst0", "/dev/nht0" would giuve messages like "no device" or "Tape not found". The only problem was that using "/dev/nst0" I would get "Error with sense data" message during the backup. (There are several long threads about that)
Well, along comes v5.5 and now the drive only responds to "/dev/nht0" and the "Error with sense data" messages are gone! All is right in the world.
Then comes v5.5 SP2 and I'm back to "/dev/nst0" and expecting to see "Error with sense data" messages, but I have yet to confirm.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Thanks,
Todd
