Title: Are there any issues still with Access DBs on Samba shares?
Post by: Todd Pearsall on August 27, 2002, 07:28:42 PM
Are there any remaining file locking problems with multiple users accessing M$ Access DBs on Samba shares with the stock SME 5.5 Samba version?  I know there used to be issues that were being resolved in later samba releases, but not sure what was fixed, when.

Anyone doing this in production now?

Thanks,
Todd

Looks like Samba 2.2.5 contains another fix for MS Access.

22) Return NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND for ENOENT.  This fixes the bug of running the Microsoft Access executable (msaccess.exe) and database files from a Samba share documented in the 2.2.4 release.

Anyone having and production problems and with which versions.

Thanks again,
Todd
