Title: PCMCIA network install
Post by: Kees Vonk on August 29, 2002, 04:15:41 PM
I am trying to install e-smith on a laptop without a CDROM drive (at least it is not recognised, it is a Toshiba external CDROM drive that is interchangable with the floppy).

I have put a D-Link DE-660 pcmcia card in the machine, however when I use the bootnet.img to make a boot disk and the drivers.img to make a drivers disk I don't seem to be able get anything to recognise my pcmcia card. And when I use the pcmcia.img to make a boot disk I get the initial screen, but when I type 'accept' I get the following:

boot: accept
Loading: initrd.img...............
Loading: vmlinuz...........
Boot failed: please change disks and press a key to continue.

If anyone can give me hint how to crack this one, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you very much,
