Title: Port 113 and connect delays
Post by: Rob wellesley on September 10, 2002, 03:41:42 AM
Am i correct in assuming that where SME is the firewall that delays will not be encountered with pop/imap/smtp

i.e. Those experiencing delays are using SME as a mail server behind firewalls with port 113 stealthed or blocked??

Rob, see if this helps explain 'port 113 auth':

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/database/RHDB-7.1-Manual/admin_user/auth-methods.html

You should open port 113 on the external firewall.

Regards.
