Hi,
I have installed and done some basic test on e-smith 4.1.1, and things are looking good. I've searched the forums, but could not find clear answers on how to do the following:
I want to only allow users access to HTTP, FTP, POP3 & SMTP. The pop3 and smtp requests should simply be forwarded to machines on the 'Net. Currently we're doing this via a Windoze box running Wingate with proxies for HTTP, FTP, POP3 & SMTP setup.
My thoughts are to do the following:
- Disable Masquerading
- Force users to use squid proxy for HTTP & FTP
- Setup SMTP & POP proxies
- Disable Qmail (no user mailboxes/access)
So my questions are
1) Is this the way to do it?
2) Any other plans?
3) How do I disable masquerading?
4) How do I force users to use squid proxy for HTTP & FTP
5) Are the mail proxies included in e-smith?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.
Johann
