Title: I-bay and 2 connected networks
Post by: Allan Nielsen on September 10, 2002, 07:21:49 PM
I'm having problems seeing my e-smith 5.5 fileserver (the i-bay) across 2 networks.
I have added the second local network in the server-manager and can access the server-manager program and use Telnet access that is set up as "local" from network 2, but I can not gain access to the i-bay from network 2 when using win98 or win2000 software - also the server name cannot be found from network 2 when searching for it - what am I missing??

Also: what is "roaming profiles" in the work group settings?

Hope someone can help...

Allan

First you have to make sure your TCP/IP networking is set correctly with a valid IP and subnet for your defined environment.  If this is correct try adding the SME server IP as the WINS Server in the workstations Win98/W2K TCP/IP parameters.
