Hi there
I am hosting some domains for friends, and i would like them to have ftp read and write access to the relatet ibay /html directory.
Access should be granted using username/passwd or ibayname/passwd
NOT as admin or root
If you know how to do this PLEASE advice
Thanks in advance

By default only a users home ftp folder can have read and write access
ie ftp://usersname@ftp.yourdomain.com
and
An ibay can have read access with or without password if set that way.
also
You can access the server ibays using VPN for read and write access using user name/user password.
Having said the above, there have been discussions in these forums on how to enable read and write access to ftp ibays. Do a search on "ftp ibay access", you may find what you want.

Dear Bjarke
I searched on "ftp ibay access" All Forums, All words and All Dates and got over 200 matches, some of which are applicable to your needs.
You have too search properly and take the time to read the Matches
what about
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13669.msg51971#msg51971
or
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13669.msg51971#msg51971
or
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13669.msg51971#msg51971
or this may be what you want
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13669.msg51971#msg51971
and ends up at
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13669.msg51971#msg51971
and if you look earlier than those dates (early 2001) there is a lot more too !!

Well I had the same problem before!
And this is what I had problems with.
When other ppl logged in with their username and password and they went to thier iBay they couldn't right to their dir
you have to chown user:user /path/to/ibay
That should fix it for the FTP..
But then you'll also have to chown user:user /html /cgi-bin and /files
Hope that helps!
