Is there a way to block ports. I would like to disable the mail server and then block ports 25, 113, and 443. The SME server is being used for an internet firewall at an ISP. It is only being used to allow access to a website. We just need 80,21, and two ports for PCAnywhere. We would like to block the rest. If possible a script so that if for some reason the server reboots the ports remain blocked. Thanks.

For just a firewall, e-smith is overkill. IP-cop is a good firewall. Smoothwall works good as well.

Clark Connect 1.1 will do this if you are hosting the web server on the same box.
I have a preference for the E-smith server but the CC server has the one thing that seems to be lacking in E-smith, A good web based firewall configuration page that alows port blocking both in and out as well as port forwarding. It also has URL blocking (outbound). It has many of the same features as an E-smith server but the community support for E-smith blows it away.
