Hi all,
Has anyone the gotten powstatd UPS daemon to work on SME 5.5?
How?
The lack of a compiler has slowed me down a bit...
Thanks in advance,

I had the same problems. I found an alternate UPS monitor program that is working well for me.
I did it with:
1. The UPS Howto (Harvey J Stein)
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/UPS-HOWTO.html
2. A home made cable (email me for details but it is fairly easy to work out from the howto)
3. Discussion on these boards a couple of weeks ago on ' How to add command upon boot ? originated by Jesper. Thanks to Nathan, Dan & Charlie.

(I'm a beginner on Linux and I needed this)
If you have trouble running powstatd - I suggest you try powerd. Only shortcoming is that it only detects Fail and OK - not LO Batt.
HTH
