Title: RAID Recovery - Reconnect disk
Post by: Martin on September 30, 2002, 01:42:44 PM
I have an ESSG 4.1.2 system which is configured for RAID 1 Disk Mirroring. Some time back it developed a problem and as a temporary fix I disconnected the second Hard Disk. Well problem ended up being unrelated to RAID but I never reconnected the HD, but now I want to repair RAID before upgrading to V5.5.

THE QUESTION IS, can I simply reconnect HD2 and allow Linux to re-construct mirror or must I erase, repartition and reconstruct as per Daryl's and/or Mitel's How to's? The drive should still contain all of the correct partition information, just old copies of files, is the RAID1 smart enough to determine which is the correct version of files?
